Welcome to Methodist Church Sri Lanka. It began as a revival movement within the Church of England in the early 18th century. It constituted part of the greater 'Evangelical Revival'

 
 

Our vision is to spread the Gospel in many unreached areas, commence Gospel Ministries, help people to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord, and Saviour make disciples, plant new churches, establish these areas into Circuits and support the existing Circuits to promote Evangelism and conduct revival missions whenever they need the help of the Department.

Youth Revival

The Department organized a revival program for 615 youths in the MCSL. The aim of this program was to help young people to revive their spiritual lives and then to motivate them for evangelism.

This program was very successful and after this conference the follow-up programs were held in many circuits. the first follow up programme was held in Jaffna, for Jaffna and Point Pedro Circuits. 52 youths participated in the Youth Conference took that challenge and had brought another 50 young people and about 100 people participated in this follow up program. Among this 50 new people there were many Hindu youths who participated in this program and received the Gospel

 

Church Empowerment Programme (CEP)

The Evangelism Department organized a programme calld the Church Empowerment Programme, especially for the workers who are serving in difficult areas amidst persecution and obstacles to empower and strengthen them.


Evangelists and Evangelistic workers

We have 58 commissioned evangelists (including probationers) and 44 evangelistic workers. The stipends of these 44 evangelistic workers are paid by the Department of Evangelism.
