Annual Report
Justice and Peace Units in Methodist Church
2010-2011
We believe that long term peace cannot be maintained in Sri Lanka without true reconciliation. Although short term interventions are crucial to develop peace, it is vital to identify “the signs of time” and launch long term actions.
Our focus is on the divisions of ethnic, religious and economic origin, and creating a long term peace process. The Methodist Church Sri Lanka attempts to achieve this through the cooperation and participation of all. The need for eliminating barriers from social, economic and political issues to long term development and giving the people a sense of self-value, protection and hope is extremely clear. Therefore, the Methodist Church Sri Lanka is focusing on initiating programmes to give out knowledge, along with activities to develop the society.
